How I met Danny Elfman
First of all, I love that the picture for Danny is from Forbidden Zone!!
I met Danny Elfman when I went to see the first ever live performance of his work “Serenada Schizophrana” at Carnegie Hall. My friends and I got to talk to him during the intermission between two other composers’ works and his. He signed my friend’s leg, which she got tattooed on (right next to Tim Burton’s tattooed autograph!).
It was at this same time that I met Tim Burton and Helena Bonham-Carter. All three of them are very gracious and softspoken. Danny is by far the shyest of the three (you wouldn’t guess by his Oingo Boingo days, or by watching Forbidden Zone!!!), though Tim Burton is pretty shy as well. Danny’s brother Richard Elfman was also there, and it was the second time I’ve met him.
